When you start pulling the irons through the hair, remember not to leave it one place for too long otherwise it will burn the hair. One downwards sweep is better than stopping and starting which can cause lines or kinks. You should also bear in mind that just because you may be able to set your hair straightening irons to 220 degrees, you do not always need this temperature so try and use a lower temperature at first and then move up in heat until you find a temperature that suits your hair type.
