Moisturizing Dry Hair

Moisturizing dry hair is an important aspect of hair care. There are many occurrences which contribute to the drying out of hair including cold weather, excessive showering, using heating tools, dehydration, and excessive towel drying. The most important aspect about keeping hair moisturized involves hydrations. In order to hydrate your hair, you should start by drinking eight glasses of water daily.

Additionally, you can apply a weekly deep conditioning treatment, which is sure to leave your hair feeling healthy, silky and smooth. You might also choose to add a small amount of moisturizer to your damp hair before bedtime. This will allow your hair to condition overnight and can be very effective in rehydrating your locks. If the dryness of your hair is extremely severe, you might consider applying hair oils, which are generally only used when the texture of your hair prevents natural scalp oils from moisturizing the hair.

When attempting to moisturize you hair, you will want to avoid straightening irons, curling irons, and hair dryers. These tools will severely dry your hair out, and should be used sparingly. Furthermore, if you decide to let you hair air dry, you can get some of the moisture out by lightly scrunching with a bath towel. Dry not to over dry your hair using the towel, as this can cause breakage of hair follicles.

Remember, even if you’re hair appears to be healthy, it is important to follow these guidelines as a means of ensuring that your hair doesn’t become dry in the future.
