How to Make Hair Bows
Hair bows look extremely nice and great on little girls and toddlers. You can easily make the bows at home. All you need are some simple instructions and some great ribbon material, needle, matching color thread for ribbon, scissors and plastic barrette and you are done.
There are really hundreds of styles to choose from when making hair bows. Take a 1 ½” width satin ribbon and cut it into two pieces. The pieces should be 24” and 5”. Then taking the 24” satin piece, make the first loop. Make another loop by bringing the satin around the back. Bring it over the front. Now it would resemble something like a bow.
Take the needle and put the thread through its eye. Taking the thread, gently wrap the mid portion of the bow. Now pull the thread, till the centre is nicely pinched. Sow the plastic barrette into the rear portion of the bow in the centre.
Now take the 5” piece and fold the edges back and make a simple knot. Place this knot on top of the bow. Fold back the raw edges of the knotted centre. Trim the trails of the bow and you are done.
