Paramount Pictures held the “Get Schooled” conference and premiere in its Lot in Los Angeles, California. Cheryl Hines was one of many actors and singers who attended. She looked great as long as her shoes were ignored.

Cheryl wore a cute, black, knee-length skirt that has small pleats around the waist. It flared out slightly around her knees and looked flattering and comfortable. She wore a simple white, short-sleeved blouse that she tucked into her skirt. Her belt was a black and white design similar to a honeycomb. She looked adorable, until her shoes were spotted. What was she thinking and who on earth designed these? She wore sandals that had white soles and micro wedges. The strap across her toes was black. Around her ankle was a big, black, leather cuff that tied at the top. Those shoes looked like something out of “Xena: Warrior Princess” rather than anything Cheryl would be in. They looked clunky and out of place on Cheryl; they seemed like they would be very uncomfortable. She accented her outfit with a pendant on a long chain and some earrings.

Cheryl kept her makeup to a bare minimum. She wore just the basics – foundation, powder, mascara, and a light lipstick. She could have used a little color in her cheeks but she looked nice all the same. She wore her hair simply too. She has layers in her shoulder length hair and her bangs are cut shorter than anywhere else. She parted her hair just off center and swept her bangs off her face. She let her side bangs frame her face and the effect was gorgeous. Now if only she’d avoided those shoes and opted for something simpler, she’d have looked very at ease and beautiful.

Singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham recently was in New York to attend “Fashion’s Night Out.” The event was held at Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City. How Victoria can be a fashion designer with tastes like what she demonstrated there, no one will ever know.

The former Spice Girl wore her hair in a very short crop. She had long bangs and her eyes played peek-a-boo out from under them. Her hair was cut into layers, all of varying lengths. She added a black headband that gave her hair a little more definition and she fluffed her hair in the back. Her makeup was great. She highlighted her eyes with a combination of black eyeliner, black eyeshadow, and a silver glitter shadow. She looked very pretty from the shoulders up.

From the shoulders down was the problem. Victoria wore a sleeveless mini dress that was black, white, and pale orange. The colors were as awful as its design. The white running through it like a lightning strike, bordered in black, broke the pale orange of the dress. It might have looked better if she had more of a figure; as it is, Victoria seems to have lost way too much weight. Her earrings and ring were very pretty but the huge silver bracelet she wore seemed too much and extremely tacky. Her thigh-high black leather boots were the best thing about her outfit. They had stiletto heels and were extremely sexy; too bad she didn’t pair them with something that looked a good deal better.

Summer is a time for fun. Curly hairstyles are great for summer because they are always fun, cute, and romantic. You don’t have to straighten your hair to look great in the summertime. As long as you take proper care of your hair where humidity and heat are concerned, your hair will look wonderful.

A medium length hairstyle perfect for curly hair is to have your curls reaching your shoulders. If you have naturally curly hair, simply part your hair on the side and let your curls fall down around your face. Canadian actress Malin Akerman recently attended the “Get Schooled” conference and premiere. The event, held at the Paramount Pictures lot in L.A., had many attendees. Malin was one of the best-dressed stars there.

Malin looked great in a black and white outfit. Her tank top style shirt had spaghetti straps and white buttons down the front. It had asymmetrical tiers that gave it a lovely, loose and flowing appearance. Her skirt was a black pencil skirt that stopped at her knees. She tucked shirt in and went without a belt, which was a wise choice for an outfit this simple and pretty. She wore cute little black high heels. Malin made this simple outfit look truly wonderful. She accented with a ring and a bracelet. She didn’t wear a necklace and it’s too bad; she would have looked great with a nice pendant.

Malin’s hair and makeup style were gorgeous. She wore her medium length hair in a layered cut that allowed her hair to frame her face beautifully. She parted her hair in the middle and let her bangs fall to either side, curling the ends of them outwards and away from her face. The curls gave her a feathered look that was very charming. Her makeup was done perfectly to suit her fair complexion. She wore a pale pink lipstick. She lined her eyes in black and wore black mascara. The black was great to bring out her full lashes and draw attention to her beautiful blue eyes.
