Ebony Hairstyles
Ebony Hairstyles - Summer Fall 2009
Women of color have had major breakthroughs in bringing new looks to the old hairstyles worn for years. Here are a few women who have cultured and created new styles for all women to share. Regardless of age or style, there is a ebony hairstyle to suit your professional and personal desires.

Tasha Smith of Meet the Browns wears a beautiful natural look of shoulder length curls. With a center part and lots of sculpture lotion and spray gels, this scrunched curl look is back in to the hilt. Layers framing the face and neckline are added with a razor cut, and layers throughout allow the hair to lay naturally without giving too much volume. Start with damp hair and apply sculpture lotion throughout the hair. Use a wide toothed comb to part the hair in the middle of the scalp. Scrunch the hair between the palms and fingers with spray gel to help the curls to hold with a natural look.

Jordin Sparks wears a fiery straight and long look that rings gorgeous, no matter your age. Layers surrounding the face and at the neckline gives the full haired woman a less full look, and helps the hair to lay naturally. To get this look, simply use a smoothing shine and wax on the dampened hair, and blow dry. After drying, use a straightening iron on the hair to lay flat, from the roots to the tips. A bit of spray gel or hairspray will hold the look in place.
